How to care for your variable temperature kettle
Keep your KitchenAid Artisan variable temperature kettle 1.5L looking clean and new, both outside and inside. To get the best performance, clean the exterior, base and limescale filter periodically.
Cleaning the water kettle and its base
You’ll want to keep your gorgeous kettle sparkling clean. To do that, simply use a damp cloth to wipe over the kettle and its base. Dry with a soft cloth for extra gleam!
Abrasives and scouring agents of any kind are not recommended.
Cleaning the removable limescale filter
From time to time, clean the removable limescale filter. Open the lid and grasp it from behind the spout, and clean it under hot water with a soft brush or cloth before sliding it back into the slot. If needed, you can even let it stand overnight in water and white vinegar.
Steps for descaling the kettle
When you need to descale, you can either use a commercial descaler or alternatively, white vinegar. Just follow these steps:
Fill the kettle with white vinegar to the minimum mark (0.25L)
Top up with water up to the 0.75L mark
Boil and allow to stand overnight
Empty the solution from the kettle
Fill the kettle with water, bring to the boil and drain out the water. Repeat this step twice. The kettle is now ready to use.
