Extra-wide slots with automatic self-centering rack
Roomy slots mean you can easily toast chunky bread, bagels, and English muffins up to 2.8 cm (11/8") thick. Self-centering racks help ensure even heating whatever the thickness. The automatic lift mechanism raises and lowers racks.
Sandwich rack
Made from durable stainless steel, the rack fits into the toaster slot to create delicious cafe-style toasted sandwiches at home. All the taste, without the spills.
Warm your bun
The bun warmer accessory (sold separately) allows you to gently warm up your bread buns, rolls, croissants, and other pastries.
Dual independent controls (4-slice model only)
Everyone likes their toast a particular way. That’s why, both sets of 2 slots on our 4-slice toaster have their own controls, so you can control them independently from each other.
Cord wrap storage
The cord wrap provides tidy storage of the cord when not in use.
Removable crumb tray
The tray slides out so you can easily empty out the crumbs, which is recommended after every use. Please make sure it is completely cool before you do so.
Getting to know your toaster
This toaster might be clever, but it’s super simple to use. Let’s take a tour around all the buttons and how to use them. Please note that some functions may vary, depending on the model.
Toast/cancel function
Our Artisan toasters are automatic, so will start to lower as soon as bread is placed in the slot, and toasting will begin using the selected settings. Some bread may be too light to trigger it so, if it doesn’t drop after 3 seconds, press TOAST/ CANCEL to start the cycle manually. Press again to cancel a toasting cycle already in process, or to end a ‘Keep warm’ cycle.
Shade control and shade indicator lights/Countdown timer
Our Artisan toasters have 7 shade settings to get toast just the way you like it. Simply slide the indicator to your ideal brownness level. The lights show you your setting at a glance and, during toasting, will indicate the time left in the toasting cycle.
Sandwich function (using included sandwich rack accessory)
The Sandwich function is to be used with the included KitchenAid sandwich rack. Simply insert your sandwich, with thinly sliced fillings, into the rack, clasp it shut, pop it in the toaster slot and press the button.
Bagel function
The special setting for toasting bagels reduces the power on one side of the heating elements to gently brown the outer side of the bagel, while toasting the sliced side to perfection.
Keep warm indicator
If you forget to take your toast out, within 45 seconds of the end of a cycle the toaster will automatically lower the food and activate a ‘Keep warm’ mode using low heat for up to 3 minutes. The Keep warm indicator will light while this cycle is active. You can cancel it at any time by pressing TOAST/CANCEL.
Frozen function
The frozen bread function gently defrosts and toasts frozen breads straight from the freezer. Use this function only for frozen items.
How to clean your toaster
It’s important to look after your toaster to ensure happy toasting for years to come. Please note, the toaster must be completely cool before touching any of the parts, and before cleaning it.
Clean the crumb tray
Hold the centre of the crumb tray, slide it out and then shake out the crumbs into a waste container. The crumb tray is hand-wash only.
Clean the toaster
Wipe the outside of the toaster with a soft, damp, cotton cloth. Do not use paper towels, abrasive cleaners or liquid cleaning products. It is recommended that you wipe away any grease or oil splatters immediately.
Return crumb tray
Press the crumb tray in firmly until it clicks into position. Do not use the toaster until the crumb tray is returned and in the proper position.
