Ingredients

160 ml hemp, almond or rice milk, plus more if needed

30 g packed baby spinach leaves

1 frozen banana, chopped

1/2 avocado, peeled

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

6-8 ice cubes

1/2 honey (optional)

Step by step

  1. In order, combine hemp milk, spinach, banana, avocado, lemon juice and ice in blender jar of the KitchenAid ARTISAN Power Plus Blender. Secure lid and set blender to Smoothie setting. Blend until machine turns itself off.

  2. Alternatively, combine ingredients in blender as directed, secure lid and turn dial to Speed 1. Slowly increase speed to high (Speed 10 or 11). Blend until completely smooth, for about 1 minute. If necessary, scrape down sides of jar with the Flex Edge tamper.

  3. If smoothie is too thick, blend in extra splash or two of hemp milk. Blend in honey to taste, if desired. Smoothie is best if served right away.
